The earthquake

More information is coming out about this mornings earthquake in Abruzzo. It now sadly, looks as though the death toll will rise to more than fifty. Although it was 80 miles away it managed to wake Wilf and myself. Our wonderful cleaning lady when she arrived this morning was quite unaware of what had happened and had managed to sleep right through it. The builder by contrast had jumped out of bed, grabbed his new grandchild from the room next door and rushed out into the garden. Looking back the strange thing was not so much the tremors but rather the strange whooshing noise that an earthquake makes. I can best describe the noise as a couple of metres of thick snow sliding off the roof. Wilf has been sound asleep under the olive trees for much of the morning after his sleep deprived night. It is now getting hot, rather than warm,so an aggressive coat trimming will soon be on order.

We have never experienced an earthquake before.

Glad you and your family are ok.

Enjoy your nap in the sun friends!
