Two brothers reunited after the burglary
What an absolutely hectic day following the break in..Neighbours have been calling, the bar owner in the local village sent down the papers and coffees, others have done the shopping for us, and yet others have been helping tidy up the chaos in the house. To top it all the pasta fresca store has sent down lasagne for lunch. The boyz are now back home from the kennels and acting in a very reserved manner- clearly the memories of the night remain very strong for them. Neither of them will come upstairs to the bedroom. We shall take time to reassure them through lots of cuddles. The carabinieri have just been again with a large team of officers in two cars examining the bullet holes - this must make more than a dozen separate visitors this morning. Our lovely post lady was so apologetic she burst into tears - 'this isn't the Italy I know'.All the time we are running on adrenaline and ibuprofen. Our poor bruised and battered friends have left andf travelled on to the south.
2004 - We sell the farm in Scotland and move to the warmth of southern Europe. 2 lively Polish Lowland Sheepdogs - Wilf and Digby - our patient and comical companions. After a year in Provence we head to Italy to restore a hilltop Roman watchtower . Following an unpleasant 'housejacking' in late 2009 we set off for new adventures in South West Franceto get to grips with a large and exceedingly rickety old farmhouse. Empty nesters life after the violence of Italy has a gentler tempo. Digby passed on from piroplasmosis in May 2010. HIs brother, despite being diagnosed with cancer and having become blind ,soldiered on for another two years. Bob and Sophie joined us in 2013. Bob passed on in 2019. Sophie enjoyed the fresh air in Scotland after we returned in late 2022 but ran ahead in the summer of 23. This blog records all those little things about living with dogs that are too unimportant to make it into a diary but which make life, life.

Glad you have the boys back. It is going to take some time before they are comfortable I image.
Lots of Luv & Kisses
